1st Grade

From the wheel to the pedal, belt, flyer, and bobbin you will learn all about the “Spinning Wheel” and the process in turning fiber into yarn. You will learn about changes in size, weight, color, and movement of things while noting those qualities that stay the same as Aunt Jan works magic on the “Spinning Wheel”. You will witness how a copper pipe and ammonia change the color of fibers right before your eyes! Compare the sizes, weights, and speeds of hand spindles and spinning wheels.

On the “Hay Ride”, you will get to meet and observe many different breeds, sizes, and ages of horses!
